M's had walking pneumonia for the past 2 months.
She’s had an ear infection + bronchitis + a sinus infection (yes, all three at once) at least 5 times in the past year and a half since she started working in day care. Those little gremlins are super germie. Knock on wood that my immune system has stood up to her germs’ assault and I’ve not gotten sick.

Great Idea: Stick of Sugar
I love to bake cookies, but my least favorite part is the “1 cup of brown sugar, packed”. Who likes that step? No one. Making sure you have soft brown sugar, figuring out how to pack it down (A spoon? A rubber spatula? Your hand?), it sucks.
Solution:
Stick of Sugar.
Much like a stick of butter, this is a molded “stick” of packed brown sugar in 1 cup increments, with...

My Solution to Cable
I’ve seen quite a few “I got rid of cable and only use the internet (legally) for TV” articles in recent years and while they all offer great tips and alternatives, it won’t work for me. Why? I’m a TV junkie. I like TV, I like sitting down at the end of the day and flipping through channels to find something to watch mindlessly. I’m a TV grazer, rather than...

Looks intriguing. I don’t think I’ve had my home button respond the way I expected in at least 5 months - it’s become a guessing game as to what will happen when I press it. Buuuut, I can’t purchase a new phone should this totally muck things up.

M & I watched “Waiting for Superman” over the weekend, so the topic of education has been on my mind. One of the main take-aways I had from the movie was that the student whose family was in the highest income bracket, living in Silicon Valley, was the only one whose lottery number was called (although one other student was placed off the waiting list).
